The Day We’ve All Been Waiting For

    2025 · 1/1 · 10" × 20" · Kinetic magnetic 3D

A physical magnetic 3D work on a steel backboard. The astronaut, the moon, the HODL billboard and every piece of the skyline is its own magnet, and 3D magnetic spacers hold each one off the board at a different depth. Every element can be moved anywhere on the board and set at any depth, so the scene is never fixed.

    Unique layouts

A few of the arrangements the piece has taken so far. Stack spacers to push an element forward, take them away to sink it back, and move anything anywhere.

Layout: grid sky, moons at both corners, the HODL billboard off the left edge and the skyline breaking the bottom of the boardLayout: a large moon over a grid ceiling, the HODL billboard pushed far forward at bottom left and the astronaut raised on a long spacer at rightLayout: sky over a grid floor, the astronaut at far left, a big moon breaking the top right corner and the HODL billboard hanging off the right edgeLayout seen from the side: the astronaut, moon and HODL billboard standing off a sky-and-grid board on black magnetic spacers of different lengthsLayout seen at an angle: sky over a city, the astronaut breaking the top edge and the HODL billboard tucked at the left behind the moonLayout seen straight on: a full grid room, moons at both sides, the astronaut at left and the HODL billboard high on the right

    Customize your background

The background is interchangeable too. Each half of the board swaps out, so the same magnets can float over sky, city or grid. Pick a combination:
